Fruit Roll-Ups & Raspberry Soup

What's a blog without writing about a couple of the recipes that didn't turn out as I thought they would?

The first one I'll mention is the raspberry soup. Now, my mom made this before for a party and it tasted great. But I may've followed a different recipe than the one she used because this one turned out a bit different.
First of all, I cut all the measurements in half so that I wouldn't make as much, however I still ended up with a lot of "soup." My tips would be 1) Set aside a couple of raspberries to garnish the top and 2) Don't overdo the sugar. I'm pretty sure I messed up on that part of it, which made it extra sweet. Also it had a thick texture that I didn't think I'd get, but heavy whipping cream (so, duh).

I might have to attempt this one again later and find out which recipe she used, but for now, this one is a no-go.
UPDATE: My dad loves it though.

The second one, the fruit roll-ups, I decided to keep very simple and do just the two tablespoons of lemon juice and three cups of strawberries, pureed and smoothed out in a pan. Then it dries out for at least 5 hours at 170 degrees.

I did two smaller trays instead of one larger like the recipe said and did wider strips for the second tray.

I read afterwards that adding sugar makes it more chewy and (again) if I try these later, I might do them differently.
