I am all for trying chocolate recipes this month, but I mainly decided to make this smoothie to see how my mom would like it. She loves the combination of peanut butter and chocolate.

Ingredients

1/2 avocado

1 medium ripe frozen banana

2 tbsp cocoa powder

3 tbsp peanut butter

3/4 cup milk

1 tbsp honey

1/4 tsp vanilla extract

I blended the banana and avocado first instead of combining everything at once. It gave me a little more space in the blender to add the rest of the ingredients. Plus I used a little more than half of an avocado and I'd recommend doing less than a whole banana.

The recipe says to use creamy, which I would've done if I had any, but I ended up going with crunchy. (It still blended smoothly.) I didn't have any almond milk, but any milk will do. I also went with a lot less milk. I think it's mostly to help with the smoothness and making it mix easier.

I began with adding only one tablespoon of cocoa powder because I was afraid of the taste overpowering the peanut butter, but it actually didn't. My dear mother, who loves chocolate peanut butter, dipped a spoon into the smoothie before I could say "yes" and told me she could mostly taste the banana and the peanut butter. I then added the second tablespoon which didn't do much for it apart from darkening the color, although my mom said it did taste more chocolatey. I trust the chef.

All in all, I made a lot of loose substitutions and it still turned out alright. I'd DEFINITELY make this one again. Delish!
