Who says you can't have smoothies in December? This one was quite a delight to make and there is just enough for two! But first you need to make the Pumpkin Pie Spice.

Ingredients
> 3 tbsp ground cinnamon
> 1 tbsp ground ginger
> 2 tsp ground cloves
> 2 tsp allspice
> 1 1/2 tsp nutmeg
The only thing with the spice is that you only need a little bit of it for the smoothie itself. Which is what you'll be making next!

Ingredients
> 1/4 cup + 2 tbsp old fashioned oats
> 1/4 cup canned pumpkin
> 3/4 cup yogurt
> 1 small apple
> 1/2 banana (frozen)
> 1/2 cup milk
> 1/8 tsp pumpkin pie spice
> ice

After adding the pumpkin, yogurt (I used Trader Joe's Greek yogurt with Honey), and apple, I had to blend it up because it was super full. Also, I used about six ice cubes to get it cooler since the banana wasn't frozen.

One of my readers and childhood friends came over and helped me make the smoothie. She said that it didn't taste as pumpkin-ey as she thought and that she could really taste the yogurt. In her own humorous words, "the white girl inside of me is crying."

I thought this was an interesting smoothie. I think it needed a little more pumpkin than yogurt to for sure get that pumpkin flavor, but it had a sort of texture the old-fashioned oats provided that I really liked. It's not super sweet, but it's not a bad smoothie; Try it!
