When I tried making the granola-stuffed apples and they melted apart from sitting in a crock pot for too long thereby turning into applesauce, I had an idea. Why not make some apple butter since that was so darn successful?

Apples!
5 cups of apples

Ingredients

> 5 heaping cups of Chopped Apples

> 6 tbsp Brown Sugar

> 1 and 1/2 tsp Cinnamon

Granny Smith and Gala
Mix it up!
After several hours

I used a combination of granny smith and gala apples. Also I did half of the amount of apples, sugar, and cinnamon the recipe suggested. From previous experience with a slow cooker, I tend to allow the food to cook for a bit shorter than the given time. You can always add time, but you can't take it away. However, this time I let it run on high for a full 4 hours! After that I put it on low for another hour, until I decided it was done.

Now, if you decide you'd like a chunky apple butter, then seal it up in a jar and you're all done, but I decided to puree mine to get a smoother spread. It turned out super well! It could be used as a nice little Christmas gift to give to people as well!
