These were...confusing. At first, I did them all wrong. They still tasted pretty good, but the ingredients not mixing properly made me want to try again, the right way. Granted, I was making one with gluten free flour and the other not. So that made it a little more complicated. But! Here goes, second round. This time I made sure to follow the instructions!

Ingredients

> 3 tbsp coconut oil

> 1/4 cup oats

> 2 tbsp chopped pecans

> 2 1/2 tbsp flour (I used all-purpose)

> 2 1/2 tbsp brown sugar (divided)

> 1/2 tsp cinnamon (divided)

> 1/8 tsp salt (divided)

> 2 cups chopped apples (about 1 1/2 apples)

I waited until I was finished mixing the apples and other ingredients individually before melting and mixing in the coconut oil. Also, I heated it for 4 minutes as opposed to 3 1/2.

These aren't quite as crisp as the name suggests, but I think the recipe got the basic gist of what the food was supposed to be. The oats could be the real "crisp" the recipe is looking for so maybe toasting them a little bit beforehand could add the much needed crisp to the dessert.
