When I started out this minimalism streak, I was excited! I mean, who wouldn't want less stuff so that traveling the world is easier. But at what point does having so few items become a hinderance? How far is too far? What happens when I fail to do laundry and literally run out of clothes to wear?
Here are three important tips I would recommendations!
Tip #1: Invest.
If you've researched minimalism, you've probably heard this one before. But it's kinda true. If you put your money into a piece you know will last longer, you're going to save money in the long run.
Tip #2: Define minimalism.
If you're running out of clothes to wear, you may need to rethink your definition of minimalism. Sure, each item might be essential, but do you only have a few things because that's what you think minimalism is? Having the least amount of stuff possible. What does minimalism mean to you?
This is probably the most important tip I could give because minimalism doesn't mean have the cheapest and least amount of stuff. There are so many different versions of it; Every minimalist is different.
Tip #3: Use what you have.
This might seem like, "duh, of course," but how much of your clothes do you really wear? Something I like doing is hanging all my hangers backwards so that when it comes time to wear something, I can see what I have worn recently and maybe what I haven't in a while. This can help you really figure out what is of use and gets used in your closet. It's also a nice decluttering hack when you'd like to get rid of clothes.
